Statement to Consumers of our Organization

Statement to Consumers of our Organization

As a consumer to Anger Management, we recognize it is important to make an informed, educated decision when deciding on choosing a provider for classes, training or education.  We would like our current, potential, and future consumers to clearly understand our mission, core values, objectives and partner relationships.

The Anger Coach and AJ Novick Group as well as training organization, Century Anger Management provide high quality education, training, and client services in the field of Anger Management.

We have the following Core Values:

1)     We act with integrity and honesty at all times.

2)     We are passionate about providing quality education and training to our consumers.

3)     We are open and respectful to others and dedicated to making them better.

4)     We are willing to embrace challenges and see them through.

5)     We are committed to providing excellent service to the public and continually strive to improve.

6)     We hold ourselves accountable for commitments and firmly stand behind our model of intervention, our advertising to the public, and our commitment to consumers.

Our model of intervention, developed by Dr. Tony Fiore, Ph.D. and Ari Novick, M.A., was published in January 2005.  In the absence of state laws regulating anger management, we gained some very important approvals that validate the usage of our model and training.  Our model is approved by the California State Board of Corrections (Certificate # 03530-031088) for the training of Probation, Parole Officers and Corrections staff.  It is also approved for CEUs for LCSWs and LMFT’s by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS PCE# 2668) and CAADE (CP10704C1105), California.

Consumers need to be aware that there are various approaches and models to anger management. No single model or intervention has national or international regulations put in place for its usage by any Federal or State agency to date.

We welcome any past, current or prospective consumers of our organizations to contact our approving agencies for validation.  Please also feel free to contact us for a list past major corporations that have attended classes and workshops using our model of intervention.

Century Anger Management Certification Training -- Frequently Asked Questions

Century Anger Management

Anger Management Professional Certification Training

Frequently Asked Questions

Q.Can I use this certification from Century Anger Management to teach Anger Management classes?

A. Yes, absolutely.  Currently, there are no state laws that regulate anger management providers; therefore, any reputable provider can offer certification.

Q. What makes your organization reputable?

A. Our model has been accepted and approved by the California State Board of Corrections for the training of Probation and Parole Officers as well as Correctional staff.  This board will likely have the most credibility regarding the acceptance of programs and providers in anger management, where there are currently no state laws.  The Board of Behavioral Sciences and CAADE also approve us for continuing education training.  We are also approved content providers, supervisors and trainers of the National Anger Management Association (NAMA).  This association is a non-biased organization promoting the field of Anger Management and providers.  We are the only training providers approved by NAMA in the state of California.  Our principal trainer is Dr. Tony Fiore, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist with over 30 years experience, and c0-author of Century Anger Managements’ curriculum, “Anger Management for the Twenty-First Century”.

Q. Will the courts accept this model?

A. There is no single model of anger management that is the accepted “standard” for state courts in California or any other state courts in the country.  There are various researchers and noted authors in anger management, who all have very different views of the strategies needed to effectively manage anger. If you call up agencies, group homes, or other service providers who offer anger management classes for the courts in counties across the state or country and ask what model they use, the answers frequently vary. Our model is quickly becoming more recognized and accepted as a leading intervention for anger management, and to date, we have not had a single participant of any of our programs turned away for using the Century Anger Management model for attending classes with a court order.  If the viability of your program or agency is every questioned, you can quickly remind the courts that the model you are using is accepted and approved by the California State Board of Corrections for the training of Parole, Probations and Correctional officers.  There are only three organizations in the state of California with this designation.

Q. Where do most anger management referrals come from?

A. Interestingly, most anger management clients do not come from the courts.  Most clients are either self-referred or referred by their employer.

Q.I live in Orange County; will the courts accept me as a provider if I use this model?

A. Orange County is one of the only counties in the state that has a limited number of approved providers.  It is difficult, but not impossible to get on their list, regardless of what model of anger management used or what organization you received training.  Ironically, if you contact the probation department in Orange County and ask if you can take a class from a provider not on their list, there response is “This is the list we recommend”.  If you are interested in applying to their list, they are quite familiar with our model and also happen to be the sponsor of our approval with the California State Board of Corrections.

Q. Is this the only certification training available to the public?

A. Until recently, there was only one other training provider in anger management in the state of California and only a handful in the country.  We believe the public should have choices when it comes to anger management certification and training.  We have an extremely high quality model with proven interventions as well as the approvals necessary to position our model and our providers as viable resources for anger management intervention. We do not profess to be a huge global organization; however, we stand behind our training and curriculum as one of the finest available in the world.  We also offer unprecedented marketing support of your business and we do not require participants to purchase minimums of workbooks and client support materials and they are certified.  We offer a variety of volume discounts on workbooks for providers.  A listing of our discounts can be found on our website. In fact, our organization rewards our providers with discounts on materials and will also include your organization in a variety of outbound marketing campaigns that our partners and we produce.

Q. Why should I get certified as an Anger Management Professional by Century Anger Management?

A. This specialized training will assist you in working with clients that specifically have issues relating to anger and stress management.  Anger management is not psychotherapy; therefore, most clinicians are not properly trained to work with such clients.  Our certification is ideal for educators, clinicians, parole, probation and correctional officers, clergy, substance abuse and domestic violence counselors, human resource managers and anyone who wants or needs to work helping clients with anger related problems.  Our model uses proven and effective techniques to teaching clients skills using our copyrighted, “Eight Tools to Anger Control”.  The Century Anger Management model is quickly becoming one of the leading modalities for helping clients control anger, aggression and violence.  We are now quickly growing and are positioned to become one of the leading organizations in the nation for anger management facilitation training.  Lastly, Century Anger Management strongly supports our providers.  We will actively help market your organization and provide discounts on all client workbooks and support materials.  We want to see you succeed!

Q. Where can I find out more information on our certification trainings?

A. Please contact either Dr. Tony Fiore for more information.  His information can be found on at www.angercoach.com

Coping with workplace bullying

What is it?  According to one expert: "bullying involves hostile behaviors, including belittling a person or a person’s work, discounting or ignoring the person’s input or viewpoint, overfocusing on negatives, deliberately doing things that annoy the person, making unrealistic work demands, sabotaging the person’s work and blaming the person for someone else’s actions or mistakes. "

What to do about it? "The first thing a bullied person should do is assemble a support system. It can consist not only of family and friends but also professionals such as a pastor, mental health counselor, doctor, lawyer or union representative, if applicable."
