Expert says root cause of issues must be found for effective treatment
"You're undoing 20 years of experience where they've used their aggressive tendencies and gotten away with it," said Steve Edwards, a professor of sports psychology at Oklahoma State. "Anger and aggression are not the same thing, Edwards said. But when they are paired together, there can be problems, as when Kenny Rogers attacked a cameraman before a Rangers game Wednesday." Edwards said his research shows that the longer an athlete plays aggressive sports, the more likely he is to use aggressiveness in other areas of his life.
